Fine structure: polyps embedded in thick rubber-like sheet of
coenenchyme which fills the entire space between the polyps; polyps may be up to 8 mm in
diameter. |
Habitat: surge pools and wave-exposed reefs. |

lamellate coenenchyme and are not crowded. |
Fine structure: polyps may be up to 7 mm diameter. |
Habitat: shallow water, common in tide pools. |
